Should I ask two AIs?

Should I ask two AIs the same question? For anything that matters, yes. Here is when, and how.

A second AI opinion costs one message and catches the mistakes that cost weeks. It is the cheapest quality control ever invented, and almost nobody does it because it means opening another app and re-explaining everything. This page is the when, the how, and the reason MultipleChat exists: to make the second opinion a habit instead of a chore.

Free to start. Five model families on the same conversation and Project.

Code going to productionYes, alwaysThe model that wrote it will approve it. A different one will not.
A plan you will follow for monthsYes, and ask for the attackThe assumption you did not test is what the second model finds.

How

So the second model does not just agree

  1. Ask cold

A fresh chat in the same Project, or a new message with the model switched and the question restated. Do not show it the first answer yet; anchoring makes models agree.

  2. Then show it the first answer and ask for the attack

"Here is another model's answer. What is wrong, missing or overconfident in it?" Attack produces more than assessment.

  3. Choose a different family

ChatGPT and Claude, or Claude and Gemini. Two versions from one vendor share training and blind spots.

  4. Reconcile

"Where do these two agree, where do they differ, and what should I check myself?" The differences are your to-do list.

  5. Let them argue in one conversation

On paid plans, MultipleChat's collaboration modes have models draft, challenge and verify each other, so the second opinion happens without you orchestrating it.

What it catches

Real examples of what the second model finds

Code

The retry bug

First model: "looks good, ship it." Second: "if the webhook is delivered twice, the customer is charged twice." Two lines fix it; the second opinion found it.

Business

The untested customer

First model scores "reachable" 4. Second scores it 2 and explains that the customer named does not gather anywhere you can find. That is the next week's work.

Research

The stale price

First model quotes a competitor at $49. Second, searching, finds the current page at $79. The plan changes.

Writing

The line that loses trust

First model drafts the page. Second, reading as a sceptical buyer, points at one sentence that sounds like a sales pitch. It goes.

Free is the start. The latest models are the difference.

Checking answers is where the latest models earn their price.

The free plan gives you the major model families and enough messages to make second opinions a habit, which is the whole point of this page. The paid plans add the latest model in each family, which disagree in more useful ways and invent less; Perplexity Sonar Pro for sourced facts; and Auto Verification, an independent verification pass that runs when factual confidence matters, without you orchestrating it.

Newer models hold your whole Project in view instead of the last few messages, reason through trade-offs instead of picking the first plausible answer, and are wrong less often and with less confidence. For the questions on this page, that is the difference between advice that sounds right and advice you can act on.

Pro from $20 a month, cancel any time. The free plan stays free.

Second-opinion prompts

In order: cold, then attack, then reconcile.

ColdAnswer this independently: [question]. Assume nothing about any earlier answer.
AttackHere is another model's answer. What is wrong, missing or overconfident in it? Be specific.
CodeReview this code as an engineer who did not write it. Bugs, security, edge cases, with fixes.
PlanScore this plan 1 to 5 on each of: painful, already paid for, reachable, buildable, repeatable. Explain.
FactsIs [claim] currently true? Cite the source and its date.
ReconcileHere are two answers. Where do they agree, where do they differ, and what should I verify myself?

What people ask

Is asking two AIs a waste of time?

For a draft, yes. For anything with a cost if wrong, it is the best minute you will spend. The rule above is the whole decision.

Which two AIs should I use?

Two from different families: ChatGPT and Claude are the common pair; Gemini or Grok as a third for ties; Perplexity when the question is factual.

What if they disagree and I cannot tell who is right?

Ask a third, get a source or a test, or ask a person. The disagreement has already done its job by showing you where the uncertainty is.

Does MultipleChat do this automatically?

Compare Mode runs one prompt through several models side by side; collaboration modes on paid plans have models challenge and verify each other within one conversation. Or you switch the model and ask, on the same context.

Why not just use one better model?

Because it is wrong invisibly some of the time, and you cannot see where without a second, independent answer.

What is free?

The major model families and a daily message allowance, enough to make second opinions a habit. The latest models and collaboration modes are on paid plans.

Ask the second AI. On the same conversation, one message.

That is what MultipleChat is for. Free to start.
